  1. Becca's photo is very cool with a good array of colors. The Foil-y text also give a cool lighting effect, and the general lighting of the book was very nice and natural. My only critism is the book could be aligned a little straighter (or I've been drinking again and am leaning to one side).

Cool pic, my favorite of the bunch.

  2. Just an aside Comment. I edited the post to restrict the image size in width only. Height doesn't need to be adjusted as some people will have vertical pics like me.

Alrighty, on to Vic's pic. Very nice pic. Gives the impression that life's a prison. Lighting is good as well. The only thing I would change is when taking the shot is to move a little bit back and focus the bars so that they give a sharper contrast compared to the background.

  3. i should have done focus bracketing :) harder to see how the focus is through the LCD and I was just lazy to check :) Life sure is a prison.

  4. Am I commenting here?

I like the patterns in Vince's shot and the ratio he used with one pattern being more predominant in the composition compared to the other one. The combination plays off each other well.

My criticism would be to choose some more vibrant colours to give a bit more contrast to the two patterns. I might also flatten the clothes out so that you reduce the number of folds/ruffles - adds an unneccessary level of visual interest that I don't think you need, since the comparison of patterns is a strong idea.

    sorry if I am verbose!

  5. Hi Frank! I can tell you have a lot of golf shirts. He he... I'm probably not qualified to comment on your photo, but here's my attempt.

Your photo is very clear. The colours appear vibrant. You seem to focus in the shirt closest to the camera and as the distance increases the focus fades. Kool effect! The only thing I think and its probably just a preference thing is that it would be kool to have an eye catching colour at the end so that the viewer will show more interest as he looks towards the upper part of the photo.

  6. I like steph's picture alot. I love the texture in it. Because there is little context and you can't tell exactly what it is, it becomes purely textural and gives the feeling of stripes even though you would think a photo is purely a visual representation. Showing the edge of the stone draws the eye and creates good interest. Can't think of any constructive crit, sorry.
    Great picture.
